Chicken legs and drumsticks from CFR Farms come from the same free-range flock as the rest of our poultry program — birds raised on open pasture in Beaverton, Ontario, not confined indoors. We’re scaling our flock from 500 birds today to 5,000 within the year, with 2,500 of them raised specifically as meat birds, so we can offer a consistent, dependable supply of pasture-raised chicken across the GTA. Drumsticks are a household favorite for a reason: they hold up well to slow cooking, grilling, or roasting, and because our birds forage naturally on pasture and eat a grain-based diet with no added hormones, the meat carries more flavor than what you’ll typically find from indoor-raised poultry. Once processed, our chicken goes straight through our own on-site meat processing centre, which means the trip from farm to your table stays short — no long-distance shipping, no unnecessary handling. That’s part of how we keep our pricing fair for households and restaurants alike, without cutting corners on how the birds are raised or processed.
