Our chicken thighs come from the same free-range flock behind our fresh eggs — birds raised on open pasture at CFR Farms in Beaverton, Ontario, rather than in confinement housing. We’re building our poultry program from 500 birds (250 of them meat birds) up to 5,000 within the year, with 2,500 broilers in the mix, so we can supply a steady, reliable source of pasture-raised chicken to households, restaurants, and grocery partners across the GTA. Thighs are one of the most flavorful cuts on the bird, and because our chickens forage and move freely rather than sitting in cramped housing, the meat develops more texture and depth than what you’ll typically find from mass-produced poultry. Our birds are grain-fed with no added hormones, and once processed, they go straight into our own on-site meat processing centre — keeping the journey from pasture to your kitchen entirely within the farm. That short supply chain is part of how we keep prices fair without compromising on how the animals are raised. It also means fresher meat: no long-haul shipping, no unnecessary middlemen, just chicken raised and processed on the same self-sustainable, solar-powered farm. As our meat bird program scales up this year, thighs will be available by the pound for home delivery, pickup at our retail outlet, or wholesale order. Reserve yours now to be first in line once harvest begins.
