Raspberries at CFR Farms are grown organically in our fields in Beaverton, Ontario, without synthetic pesticides — part of a produce program covering more than 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on our self-sustainable, solar-powered farm just outside the GTA. We grow raspberries the way small-batch farms have always grown them: allowed to fully ripen on the cane before picking, rather than harvested early to survive long-distance shipping. That means a sweeter, more delicate berry with far more flavor than what typically arrives at grocery stores after days in transit. Because our operation runs on clean solar energy and keeps overhead low through self-sufficient infrastructure, we can offer organic raspberries at prices that don’t carry the usual premium markup. Raspberries are a delicate crop, which is part of why we built walk-in cold storage on-site — it lets us preserve freshness and extend availability a little further into the season without sacrificing quality. Whatever we don’t sell gets donated weekly to our local food bank and the Salvation Army kitchen, so nothing goes to waste. Once ready, raspberries will be available through our online store for home delivery, at our on-farm retail outlet, or wholesale to hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores across the GTA.
