Apples from CFR Farms are grown organically in our orchard in Beaverton, Ontario, without synthetic pesticides — part of a produce program spanning more than 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on our self-sustainable, solar-powered farm just outside the GTA. We let our apples ripen fully on the tree before harvest, which brings out a crispness and depth of flavor that’s hard to match in apples bred and picked for long shelf life during shipping. Growing organically also means healthier soil in our orchard over time, since we’re not relying on synthetic fertilizers or pesticides that accumulate in the land. Because our farm operates on clean solar energy and keeps overhead low through self-sufficient infrastructure, we’re able to price our organic apples fairly, without treating ‘organic’ as an automatic premium. Apples will be available by the pound through our online store for home delivery, at our on-farm retail outlet, or wholesale to hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores across the GTA. Thanks to the walk-in cold storage we’ve built on-site, we’re able to extend availability well beyond the height of harvest season, so you’re not limited to just a few weeks a year.
