Carrots from CFR Farms are grown organically in our fields in Beaverton, Ontario, without synthetic pesticides — part of a produce program spanning more than 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on our self-sustainable, solar-powered farm just outside the GTA. We pull our carrots fresh to order rather than storing them for weeks before sale, which is what gives them that sweetness and crisp snap that tends to fade in carrots that have sat in cold storage or traveled long distances. Growing organically also means healthier soil over time, since we’re not relying on synthetic fertilizers or chemical pest control that conventional operations depend on. Because our farm runs on clean solar energy and keeps overhead low through self-sufficient infrastructure, we’re able to price our organic produce fairly rather than charging extra just for the label. Carrots will be available by the bunch through our online store for home delivery, at our on-farm retail outlet, or wholesale to hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores across the GTA. We’ve built walk-in cold storage on-site to help extend availability beyond peak harvest without sacrificing freshness. Any surplus that doesn’t sell gets donated weekly to our local food bank and the Salvation Army kitchen, so nothing from a strong season goes to waste.
