Our strawberries are grown organically in the fields at CFR Farms in Beaverton, Ontario, without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. They’re part of a produce program that spans more than 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, all raised using sustainable farming practices on a self-sustainable, solar-powered farm just outside the GTA. Strawberries are one of the first fruits we planted, and we grow them the way they’re meant to be grown — allowed to ripen naturally in the field rather than picked early for long-distance shipping. That means a sweeter, more flavorful berry than what typically shows up in grocery store bins after days in transit. Because our farm operates on clean solar energy and keeps costs low through self-sufficient infrastructure, we’re able to offer organic produce at prices that are genuinely competitive, not just a premium add-on. Strawberries, like the rest of our produce line, will be available through our online store for home delivery, at our on-farm retail outlet, or wholesale for hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores across the GTA. We’ve also built walk-in cold storage on-site to help preserve freshness and extend availability beyond the height of the season, and any surplus we don’t sell gets donated weekly to our local food bank and the Salvation Army kitchen.
